Advice has been received by the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, that the King has been pleased to approve the award of the Distinguished Service Cross for great skill and daring in action with enemy submarines in the Atlantic to -temporary R N Z.N.V.R., and Temporary SuoLieutenant Stanley Godfrey Jervis, Lieutenant James Oakley vvilson, R. . . Temporary Lieutenant Jervis joined the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve as a temporary sub-lieutenant on April 29, 1940, and has been serving on loan to the Royal Navy since that date. Lieutenant Jervis was a member of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and joined the naval service under Scheme A, which was comprized of yachtsmen who possessed yachtmasters or equivalent certificates. His mother is Mrs. Ellen J. Jervis, 16 Omahu Road, Remuera Temporary Sub-Lieutenant X* ilsou joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as an ordinary seaman under 'Scheme B on July 13, 1941, and received his training in the Royal Navy.
