MANPOWER OFFENCES
A fine of £2 and costs was imposed by Air. Stilwell, S.M., in tlie Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, .yesterday on each of the following persons charged with failing to register for work of national importance: Leslie Ilalworth Clark, press operator, aged 54; Joyce Eleanor Jones, manageress of a quick lunch, aged 24; Nola Gleeson, housekeeper, aged 31; Edgar Kidman, storeman. aged 51; and Renee Dorothy Boyd, hotel worker, aged 23. For leaving* her employment at Barrett’s Hotel without tlie permission of the manpower ollicer, Boyd was fined £2 and costs, and for leaving her employment at the Empire Hotel without permission she was ordered to pav costs. Ronald Raymond Gardiner, licensee of the CarltoirHolol. was lined 10/and costs for failing to notify the manpower ollicer within the prescribed period that he had engaged Boyd.
