MANDALAY RAIDED

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 7. “Royal Air Force Liberators made a highly successful attack on the Mandalay railway station yards and rolling stock last night,” says an India communique. “All the bombs fell in the target area, and buildings were demolished, trucks were hit, and fires were started. Yesterday Blenheims escorted by fighters bombed targets on the Mayu Peninsula. “About 15 enemy aircraft which flew over Rathedaung were engaged by our fighters and forced to jettison their bombs harmlessly. “From these operations all of our planes have returned. It is now known that an additional five enemy aircraft were destroyed and others damaged by our fighters in a series of combats on Friday, making the enemy losses for the day seven.”
