MINISTERS TOUR KARAMEA DISTRICT
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WESTPORT, August 12.
A tour of the Karanieu District was made today by the Minister of Transport, Mr. Semple, and the Minister of Mines, Mr. Webb. The serious river erosion at Little Wanganui was inspected and deputations from settlers in the locality were heard. Flood damage at Granite Creek, Arapito and Umere and harbour protection works at Karainea were also inspected. The ministers also beard deputations concerning the development of the Charleston coal mining field.
