GENERAL FLARE UP
Thought Certain If Allies
Invade France REFUGEE’S OPINION
LONDON, August 11.
A possible Allied invasion of Erance has been discussed by a 1 reach refugee who escaped from Erance on the eve of being seized as a hostage. Till recently he was doing underground propaganda for the Allied cause. He said that if there was an Allied landing in Erance it would be the signal for a general flare-up, as about 90 per cent, of the population were waiting to rise. He suggested that when the time came every soldier should take three rifles—one for himself and two for the French people. Paris radio says that an incident in which terrorists were involved occurred in a street in Paris on Monday. Machineguns were used and a number of persons, including women and policemen, were injured. The announcer said that acts of terrorism which had stopped for several weeks had suddenly sprung up again as though at a word of command.
