Vice-Regal. Government House. Wellington, July 2(1. Iler Excellency Lady N’ewall was present at a meeting of the Wives of Officers Serving Overseas Club tins afternoon.
Mr. C. R. Fisher has been appointed representative for Johnsonville on the Metropolitan Patriotic Committee, in place of Mr. K. Gandy, who has retired.
Commander Cabanier, Croix de Guerre. D. 5.0., Chief of Staff of Hie High Commissioner for Fighting France in the Pacific, lias arrived in New Zealand from Noumea. He is at present in Wellington, and called yesterday on Ihe Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. D. G. Sullivan. He will leave later for Auckland.
