Brigadier A. J. Miles arrived at Welllugton from the south yesterday. Mr. H. A. Beauchamp, Wellington, has returned by air from Dunedin. Dr. W. G. Davidson, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington yesterday. Mr. W. A. Boucher, of Auckland, is visiting Wellington. Mr. F. H. Bass, Wellington, has left by air for a short visit to Australia. Mr. T. Coltraan, Wellington, was a passenger by plane to Nelson yesterday. Wing Commander G. A. Nicholls, commandant of the Air Training Corps, returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday. Squadron Leader A. C. McArthur, a member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Selection Committee, is visiting Palmerston North. Mr. J. L. Menzies, actlng-Australian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, has returned to Wellington, from a visit to Auckland and Hamilton. Mr. J. R. Virtue, Wellington, has been elected president of the New Zealand Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants’ Federation. Mr. B. Smith, managing director of Smith and Smith, Ltd., was, a passenger by plane from Wellington to Auckland yesterday. Professor A. H. Tocker, Christchurch, professor of economics at Canterbury University College, arrived at Wellington yesterday. Mr. J. Fletcher, director of the Fletcher Contsruction Co., Ltd., was a passenger by plane to Dunedin yesterday. Acting Regimental Sergeant-Major R. H. Blanshard, M.8.E., is a prisoner of war, according to advice received. He was posted as missing in June, but his mother in Wellington has now received a letter from him stating that lie is a /prisoner and was to be transferred from Crete to the mainland.
