Star Hold Whaleboat Race
The Star Boating Club held another of its series of whaleboat races on Saturday afternoon, five crews taking part. Results: — First heat: L. 1,. Husking (str.), E. G. Webb, E. Christie, P. Norris, Twist, beat J. F. Ashby (sir.), K. Webb, L. •Lavin, B. Yates, R. Roekel. by a length. Second heat: W. Hawker (str.), A. T. Lowe, P. Lagan, L. 'Tapp, B. Wilford, beat S. I. Kidd (str.), W. Bryan, E. Sladden, H. Hawker, P. Bruce, by half a length. Bye: J. Franklin (str.), D. Young, L. Wilford, G. Corniek, P. Cross. Semifinal: Franklin’s crew beat Hosking’s crew by half a length. Final: Hawker's crew beat Franklin’s crew by 3ft.
