HOSTESSES FROM PIONEER CLUB
Hostesses at the Y.M.C.A. tea for soldiers yesterday were members of the Pioneer Club, with Miss Isaacs as convener. The chairman of the tea was Mr. R. H. Nimmo, and associated with him were Miss Amy Kane, president of the Pioneer Club, and Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Meek. The lettuces which appeared on the menu were grown and donated by land girls of the W.W.S.A., at Eastbourne. Items were as follows: — Songs, Mrs.. Wilfred Andrews, Sergeant R. Sloan; elocutionary items, Mrs. Anne Lane. The accompanists were Mrs. A. Ginn and Miss Finlay. Mr. H. Hindle led the community singing, with Mr. J. Mann at the piano. The usual one minute’s silence was observed, for men serving overseas.
