Three-Act Comedy At Final Repertory Social Of Year

4 For its final social evening for 1941, the Wellington Repertory Theatre presented the farcical three-act comedy, “Indoor Fireworks,” by Arthur Macrae, in St. Francis Hall last night. The play which abounded with hilarious situations and rapid fire dialogue has been described in Loudon as a farce “to brighten the darkest blackout.” The action of the play took place in a country home near Cambridge, during a weekend in June. Mrs. Elsie Lloyd was the producer, the following members taking part:—Grace Buchanan, Barbara Basham, Coralie Smythson, Constance Scott, Patricia McCarthy, Mrs. W. A. Martin, Alan Howard, Eric Simester, W. D. Barnett, and R. E. Pope. Mrs. Alex Peacock was wardrobe mistress, Miss Molly Coleridge was property mistress, the stage manager was Mr. Alex Peacock, the electrician Mr. A. Parker, and the sound technician Mr.<:W. J. Johnstone. Supper and dancing concluded .the evening -Airs. C. McDonald and Misses Ormi Reid and Olga Burton played 'incidental music and an orchestra supplied the dance music. Mrs. F. A. Millar was hostess, assisted by' Mesdames Lewis Campbell, W. Hindle, M. Brown, Jasper Baldwin, Cundy, Misses Alisa Newton and Ngaire Thomson.
