FRENCH CLUB MEETING
The comedies possible in a registry office were the subject of a one-act play presented at a recent meeting of the French Club in Wellington. "Le Bureau de Placement,” produced by Mrs. Du Chateau, was presented by Misses Bowdidge, lieveirs, Fraser, Ridel), Stevens, and Mrs. Finlayson, and provided very good entertainment. Musical items, given by Mrs. Leslie (violin) - and Miss L. Mclvor (French songs), were thoroughly appreciated. A playlet, “Frere Jacques,” was ■ delightfully presented by some young players, Misses P. Bevan, N. McKenzie, P. White, N. Main, B. Colley, M. Croft, V. 'Wilson, J. Walker. Mrs. D. McLeod was hostess. Misses Wilton and Wolsey arranged the evening’s supper, and Miss Hall conducted the conversation class. ,/ The singing of The Marseillaise and the National Anthem concluded an enjoyable evening.
