AXIS PRISON CAMPS
Plenty Of Bathing In Tripoli (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY October 16. Recent information regarding prisoner of war camps in the Axis countries shows that a new camp in Germany, “Stalag 3,” contained 185 noncommissioned officers of the Royal Air Force on October 2. It is stated to be well located and that in general the buildings are adequate. It has recently been visited and as a result steps are being taken to ensure that such improvements as are necessary shall be effected. There are over 300 British prisoners in Carcarese ('amp. in Tripoli The building, which was rhe former Rsiilila centre, is in good order and uoi overcrowded. There were no complaints when the camp was visited in August. The daily food ration included vegetables and potatoes, either fresh or pickled, and salted beans. The men can bathe in the sea as much as they wish. The work consists of gardening, cobbling, cooking and unloading goods at docks.
