Foxton’s Work For Men Overseas In November last year, . Mrs. W. Trueman undertook the distribution in Foxton of wool, provided by the National Provincial Patriotic Council, Wellington, with which to make knitted comforts for men on active service overseas. The following figures in connexion with the articles knitted to date have been received: 140 balaclavas, 211 pairs of mittens, ill scarves, S pullovers for the men on minesweepers. , In addition to these goods, 10l hussifs, have been made through the women’s Emergency corps and eight pairs of socks, one pair of knittel gloves, six pairs of bedsocks, and eight pairs of fur gloves have been handed in. The goods have all been forwarded to Wellington and the patriotic council wishes to thank all those who helped by knitting, and, hopes that the good work will be continued.

Studio Dance. . Pupils and friends are invited to the dance which is to be held tonight in Miss Gwenethe Walshe’s studio, Willis Street.

A veij smart small black hat has a Rights crown and rather narrow brim, with a gadroon edge worked into the felt. Another attractive hat is brown with a smocked crown and the brim turned up at one side with a few fan-shaped pleats.
