Chungking And Chinese Communists (Received July 28, 10.15 p.m.) TIENTSIN, July 28. The newspaper “Yung Pao," which frequently reflects Japanese army opinion, reported that the Chungking regime and the Chinese Communists have reached a compromise, ending the friction. The Reds have agreed to support General Chiang Kai-shek to the end, placing themselves under Chungking supervision and disbanding the fourth route army. Chungking has agreed to subsidize the Reds to the amount of 2,000,000 dollars a month and slightly extend the territory under Communist control.
