MANCHESTER DAMAGE SEEN

Mr. Fraser Tours Northward LONDON, July 27. The New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, toured the more seriously bombed areas of Manchester yesterday morning. He was frequently cheered by groups of factory workers and householders and talked to women and children in the poorer section of the badlydamaged area, ■where he was cheered for his encouraging words. He was informed: “We aren’t downhearted.” For 30 minutes he was bombarded with questions by a dozen Pressmen who were keenly interested in New Zealand topics on the country’s war effort. After lunching with the Lord Mayor he visited an aerodrome. Mr. Fraser today motored to Glasgow. Wearing a V badge which a girl worker in an aircraft factory had given hi nJ Mr. Fraser interrupted his journey northward to visit Mrs. Dowse at her grocery store near Bolton, conveying the good wishes of her son, Mr. Percy Dowse, of Lower Hutt, a member of the National Executive of the New Zealand Labour Party.
