LEADBAG DROPPED
Unusual Te Rapa Incident Dominion Special Service.
AUCKLAND. May 18. Soon after passing the post in the Waikato Hurdles at Te Rapa yesterday. Streamline lost his leadbag, which carried in by the clerk of the course and then banded to Mr. C. Clarkin, assistant starter, who passed it on to one of the stewards. The rider, G. Ridgway, mounted the scales without the bag. and was lull), under weight. , , Meanwhile the leadbag was deposited <>n the floor nearby, and the stipendiary steward. Mr. C. The rules of racing provide that a horse shall be disqualified for a race if his rider touches any other person (other than accidentally) before weighing in. unless the rider satisfies the stewards that he was justified by extraordinary circumstances, which were deemed to have existed in this instance.
