A claim by an appi-ilanl at a recent titling of the ('hristehiirch Armed Forces Appeal Board lo be Hie only basket willow farmer in the South Island, prompted .Mr. G. M. Hall, a member of the board, to say that there used to be a farm of that nature at Heat In-ole, when it was a source of interest to passengers on the Christ-church-L.vttelto)i line. He could also remember the .crowing of tbes<> special willows on Hie banks of the Avon between (lie Vicloria Street ami Colombo Street bridges. Appellant said that the only other farm of the type lit Now Zealand that he knew of was run by the Institute for the Biiml. Am-kland
