Young People’s Dance
Assists Funds
A successful young people’s dance was given last night for the Banks’ Princess, Miss Lorna Akroyd, in the Victory Queen Carnival. Invitations were issued by the princess’s committee and the event wps arranged by Mr. J. Harcourt, the secretary, assisted by Mrs. J. G. Harcourt.
Shaded hydrangeas were used in the decorative scheme in St. Francis Hall, where the guests were welcomed by three hostesses. Mrs. Phillip Hanna, Mrs. Sinclair Thompson and Mrs. Peter McLean. Miss Lorna Akroyd and Mr. and Mrs. E. Akroyd were present. Members of the various banks’ staffs in Wallington were among those who attended in support of the Banks' Princess fund. Novelty dances were featured on the programme and the buffet supper was donated by friends and supporters.
