GRAIN AND PRODUCE

Lifeless Market In Canterbury (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. March 28. The grain and produce market continues relatively lifeless because of obscure shipping prospects. The bulk of the season's wheat has now been delivered as the growers generally, without regarding increment, have been anxious to get the wheat off the farms. Oats in general were offered sparingly. White oats marketed vary considerably, the chief difficulty being the weight. The quality of Duns has been disappointing. Sales of new season’s linseed have been reported from £l3 to £l5 a ton, on trucks. The quality is good. The demand for chaff remains steady and not large, with prices from £3/10/to £4. The few lines of cowgrass offered are of good quality. Partridge peas have weakened slightly. Little change has been made in the potato market, business varying from £6 to £6/10/- a ton.

The ryegrass market, is' steady. Business in red clover is still small and there has been no change in the white clover market.
