Dominion Special Service. FEILIHXG. March 7. The Feilding yards were again heavily supplied today, with an influx of ewefi and lambs of assorted ages. I’he demand for lambs did not measure up io that of last week and ewes also were slower of sale. Fat sheep: A better entry of wet tier million and lambs came forward and met with a ready sale at slightly better prices. Exira prime wethers made 23/4 to 24/7. prime 21/10 to 22/10. unfinished 17/10 lo 20/4 ; extra prime lambs 22/10 to 24/4. second grade 21/3 to 22/6. light 16/10 to 20/10: prime ewes 10/10 to 11,3. lighter S/4 to 0/10. Store sheep: A large proportion of .small lines and “tail ends’* wafi included in the ewe and lamb yarding, ami anything not up to a fairly high standard met with a slow sale. Best two-tooth ewe« sold for 31/6 to 33/6, good 28/- to 31/-, others 23/6 to 27/6: good four and six-tooth ewes 24/- to 26/-. others 20/8 to 2.3/9: fiix-tooth ewes ..20/7 to 24/3; six-year ewes 14/10 to 15/1; beet ewe lambs 23/1, others 10/9 to 17/2; good wether lambs 16/3 to 18/3, smaller 10/6 to 15/-, black-face wether lambs, well grown 15/1 to 16/7. others 12 z 6 to 14/6. Store cattle: Some station cattle were yarded in good condition, but the demand was slack, reserve figures not being reached. Heavy workfi cows realized £3 6/- lo £3/15/-, others from £2/15/-: good yearling .Jersey heifers. £2/15/- to £2 17/6, small £l/15/-.

Dairy cattle: An odd line or two sold well, befit springing cows making to £8

15/-. Fat cattle: Beef was in fair demand and a heavy entry sold well. A line of A.A. cows brought £7/7/6 tn £B/7/6. second grade £5/17/6 to £7/2/6; ex-dairy sorts ££/'5/- to £5/15/-; prime heifers £7/12/6 to £B/15/-, light £4/17/6 to £5/17/6; medium prime oxen £lO/17/6: runners £3 10/-; vealers, £l/10/- to £2/16/-.

Pigs: another good sale took place for nigs. Weaners made 8/6 to 15/-; slips 18/6 to 21/6; stores £l/10/- to £l/10/-; porkers £2/4/-; isows £l/12/-. Poultry: Hens 1/4 to 3/3; pullets 10/6; cockerels 1/4 to 3/1; ducks 2/-.

Taihape Ewe Fair

TAI'H'APE, March 7.

Another heavy yarding was offered at the Taihape supplementary ewe fair this week. Sheep value forward' considerably in excess of advertised numbers, nearly 10,5011 being yarded. There was an excellent attendance, Waikato again being strongly represented, but Hunterville, .Marlon and Manawatu districts secured a large proportion of the yarding. A special feature of the sale was the excellent entry of two-tooths, and the competition on the betterclas,s lines was exceptionally keen, 'l'. C. Revell's line of 3tfO made 3(1/and J. Bruce’s line 35/8. tn the four and six-tooths an excellent line of 200 on account of the Steedman Estate made 33/-. In the older ewes, particularly the live and six-year lines, some very attractive lines came forward, but prices were 2/io 2/0 lower than at the previous fair two weeks ago. A hirge yarding of all classes of sheep, and a special entry of 70 winter calving cows and heifers,’ was forward at the Eketahuna stock sale yesterday. There was an excellent attendance, buyers from the Manawatu, I tannevlrke, Wellington and Wairarapa districts being present. The quality of the sheep offered wa*« not up to thin of the previous sale, but prices were nevertheless much on a par.
