Hutt Valley Fire Brigades
ANNUAL DEMONSTRATION
Compet it ion was keen and the work of a high order at the Hutt Valley Fire Brigades annual demonstration al the Petone Recreation Ground. The prizes were presented by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, who 'congratulated the fire-lighters on their keenness and efficiency and expressed the hope that brlgadestnen in New Zealand would not have to fight, fires under the same conditions that they did in England. The Minister of Labour, Mr. Wyibb, was also present, and spoke. Trophies were won as follows:— Walter Nash Aggregate Cup, Petone; Silverstream Cup. Petone D: Camel Cup, Petone A: Neill Cup, Petone A: Baldwin Motor Shield. Lower Hutt; Wilmshurst Cup, Upper Hutt; Godbcr Tiki. Eastbourne: Doran Shield. Petone; Licensed Victuallers' Shield, Petone. Officials were: Starter, Mr. La Roche; referee, Mr. IL Braggins; Call Stewart, Mr L. ■Marlin: timekeepers. Superintendent Wakelln. Messrs. Neill, and E. Horne. Judges, Deputy-Superintendent AV. Boston, Messrs. 11. Shardlow. E. Hutton, 11. Matson. A. Davis. T. Hudson. K. J. Bartley.
