Farmers Seek Inquiry Into Delays
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 4.
Following a discussion in committee the provincial executive of the Otago Farmers’ Union today passed the following resolution: “That in view of the vital necessity for speeding up the loading of overseas vessels when in New Zealand waters, this council views with grave concern the frequency of delays caused by stop-work meetings of watersiders, and asks for an immediate investigation.” The meeting also passed a motion, after discussion in committee, that the local body elections should be postponed for the duration of the war.
