ANNUAL MEETING OF MOTHERS' HELPERS
During tfie past year 2511 visits to homes in and about Wellington have been paid by helpers of the society, it was stated on Monday at the annual meeting of the Mothers’ Helpers. Mrs. Guthrie, the president, who was reelected, was in the chair. Others elected to office were: Vice-presidents, Mesdames Bayfeild, Brown, McFarland, and Palmer; lion, vice-presidents, Mrs. P. Fraser, Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop, land Mrs. G. W. G, Coleridge; committee, Mesdaines Lyon’, Turner and Ward. Tributes were paid in the annual report to the fine work and quality of the helpers. Two have been continuously with tho society for 14 years. The staff has recently been increased, and it Is hoped to increase it still further in the future.
During the year the committee raised £2l/5/- by means of a jumble sale, and £9l/10/6 was written off for free and reduced help, £2O/13/6 has been received lu donations from Lady Myers, Mrs, D. H. S. Riddiford, Anon., Miss 8. Nathan, Mrs, C, G. Richardson. Mrs. Gibson Stott, Mrs. C. M. Turrell. Miss Woodhouse, Mrs, McLeod, Mrs. McFarland, Mrs. Barns, Mrs. Burnell Browne, and Mrs, A. N. Leslie; also £lOO from the profits of art union, £5O from the T. G. Macarthy Trust, and £5/5/from the Rotary Club,
