LONDON, March 2.
A message from Cairo states that the British Commander-In-Chief, Middle East, General Sir Archibald Wavell, has addressed a letter to the Egyptian Premier "at a time when an important stage of our operations in North Africa has concluded.” General Wavell expressed his thanks for the help and co-operation received from the Egyptian military authorities during the campaign in Libya, which he said had facilitated the task of the Imperial Army in securing the defence of Egypt. Hussein Sirry Pasha replied expressing appreciation of the letter and undertaking to convey its contents to the authorities concerned.
