English: Yolande R. I- Seymour (Auckland). Tinline Scholarship: J. D. Todd (Victoria). Latin: Jean 11. Norrie (Canterbury) with emolument; Shirley J. Crump (Auckland) without emolument. Greek: 1). M. Suker (Victoria) without emolument: Shirley J. Crump (Auckland) with emolument. French: D. A. AV. Jane (Canterbury) with emolument: Jean 11. Norrie (Canterbury) without emolument. History: Qona M. Turner (Auckland).

Philosophy: J. Laird (Auckland). Education: Hilary J. Carrington (Otago). Pure Mathematics: G. A. Hookings (Auckland). Applied Mathematics: Jean N. Penrose (Canterbury). Physics: J. D. S. Shirtcliffe Fellowship: R. M. Wil liams (Canterbury): Shirtcliffe Research Scholarship: F. 1). Collins (Victoria) ; Shirtcliffe Graduate Bursary: G. A. Hookings (Auckland). The committee also resolved to express its indebtedness to Sir George Shirtcliffe for the substantial add! Hon which he made to the Trust Fund during the past year.
