BRITISH COST OF LIVING
(British Official Wireless.) (Received February 19, 7 p.m.' RUGBY, February 18. The general cost-of-living figure at February 1 showed an increase of one point, over the level of January 1. This rise, the Ministry of Labour states, is due to an increase l in clothing prices which is largely attributable to the effects of lhe purchase tax. For food alone the index figure is one point lower than at: January 1. This decline was due to reductions in the prices of eggs, but it was partly offset by increases in the prices of fish and potatoes.
