'i'lii‘ organizers of the queen carnival si reel procession on February 28 are assured of the support of the Navy, Army and Air Force. Representatives of the three brandies .of the service have promised tlie inclusion in the procession ol a naval detachment, a contingent of men supported by the Trentham band, and an Air Force (leatelnnent also accompanied bv its band. A squad of marshals irotn Trentham forms pari of the Army s undertaking. These features are an important part, of the total procession which is designed I" give tlie maximum of colour .-11111 display. The decorative ability ol parents and children will bo tested in the parade and pageant. Diplomas will be issued lor the three best decorated motor-cars, children's bicycles, trolleys and dolls prams. It. is anticipated that the decorated motor-cars will provide a great diversity of design and interest. The joint committees of the Seatoun ami Fort Dorset Returned Soldiers’ Associations have organized a ball be held nt ilie Rongolai College hall ou Saturday, March 1. Tlie Fighting Services queen and the princesses representing tlie Returned Soldiers’ Association, atm the Army will be present. Mr. F. Geor s Flirt Dorset, orchestra Ims been engaged to provide the music. To assist the campaign ol the Hutt Valley queen the chairman of the executive committee ol the queen carnital addressed a gathering representing all departments of the Hutt \ alloy workshops. The aims of the carnival and details ot iln- campaign were explained and tlie necessity for vigorous action ill support of the Hutt Valley effort was stressed. The meeting unanimously resolved that the social committee make immediate plans to assist the Hutt Valley queen’s campaign.
