Statement By Consul In Australia CANBERRA, February IS. The Japanese Consul-General, Mr. Akiyama, announced today that lie had no intention of asking Japanese nationals in Australia to pack up. On tlie contrary lie was advising the Japanese to continue doing business in the Commonwealth. Mr. Akiyama deprecated talk of tension between Australia and Japan. He added: "It is a pity there should be so much alarmist news in circulation. particularly at this interesting moment when the Japanese Government is sending a Minister to Australia. Frankly, I see no grounds Cor an alarmist atmosphere. 1 see no par-' tictilar grievances between Japan and Australia which cannot lie solved by peaceful negotiation.
