Effective Attacks In The
Mediterranean
LONDON. February 18.
More successes in the Mediterranean are announced. An Admiralty communique says that a German merchant vessel of -1000 tons which was being used by Hie Italians as a supply ship was sunk by our naval aircraft. An Italian supplv ship of 0000 tons was also successfully attacked. When last seen it was down at the stern and large clouds of smoke were issuing from it. The crew was also seen to be .preparing to abandon tiie ship. Another Italian supply ship of 4000 tons and an auxiliary warship were damaged by our aircraft, all of which returned safely from these operations. These successes are in addition to the sinking of an Italian ship on convoy on Saturday.
