NEW YORK RALLY
Move For Immediate Passage Of Bill
(Received February IS, 9.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 17.
The mayor of New York, Mr. La Guardia, the former Minister to Norway, Mrs. Harriman, the fortner Presidential nominee, Mr. Davis, and the New York president of the Congress of Industrial Organizations, Mr. Strebel, spoke at an Aid to Britain rally designed to crystallize public opinion in favour of the immediate passage of the Lease and Lend Bill.
The speakers denounced Mr. Hoover's plan to feed Europe, and declared that it was presumption to assume that he was better acquainted with the needs of the conquered peoples than the respective exiled governments in London.
