Korses For Southern Meetings Dominion Speciai Service CHRISTCHURCH, February 14. Steady rain fell throughout today, and it will have a beneficial effect on the KtCcarton grass tracks, which have been m a hard condition for several weeks. Trench Fight and Cymric wore nominated for the Te Aroha Jockey Clubs meeting, to be held at Te Rapa next week. Both horses were considered favourably treated in their engagements on the first day, but it has been decided that the long trip will not. be undertaken, and they are to go to Wingatui. Riccarton stables are by the following nominations for the Westland Racing Club's meeting next week: — Wiuehelsea, Radio Call, Sweet Mystery, Bright Lad, Stabilise. Ryetown, Miss Tasta, Sham Raid. Miltiades, Aggravate, Wairaka. Entail, Liane, Sham Boy, Rebel Star, Epic, Rebel Chief. Muriel, Great Bramble, and Night Shift. Settlement, who suffered a serious breakdown in the Midsummer Handicap, was destroyed this week. A veterinary examination revealed a break in a decayed bone in his off foreleg. The Banks Peninsula Racing Club has received a very satisfactory list of nominations for its autumn meeting on Motukarara Racecourse on March 1, the total being 178. against ICG for last year’s corresponding meeting. The Peninsula Cup has drawn the following:—The Wrecker, Not Out, Liane. Entail. Winning Rival, Chary, Iceland Spar, Sovereign Lady. Trench Fight, Cymric, Gay Parade, Sham Boy, Knight Commander, Glenora Boy, Doria, Wardress.
