A .Middle East communique by the Royal Air Force states: "The military aero'drome at Addis Ababa was amoug the targets bombed by our aircraft in Abyssinia yesterday. A number of bombs were dropped on the aerodrome, and direct hits were scored on buildings and hangars, starting fires. "The Keren-Asmara area in Eritrea was also subjected to a number of raids Motor transport on the roa'd between the two towns was heavily bombed and machine-gunned, and a stores dump north of Keren was also attacked. Fighters of a South African unit which encountered five Cr42’s over Asmara on Monday, shot down two in flames. “One of the most intense bombardments yet carried out by the South African Air Force occurred on Monday, when bombers dived on military objectives in Afmadu, Italian Somaliland. Several direct hits were observed.

■ “Eighty-six unserviceable enemy aircraft have been found on the landing ground at Benina, Cyrenaica. These include one Heinkel 111, and one Junkers 88.
