A total of 132? of the 1773 num in Hie Wellington and Hutt Valley areas drawn in the first ballot tor overseas service I.nve been medically exam ined with Hie following result: Fit, Uli':): temporarily unlit, 205: perliniitenlly unlit. 123. Of Hie ,<>99 tit men. 351 were drawn in previous ballots for territorial service, and 92 of tlie temporarily until and L*l of the permanently unlit were similarli drawn in previous ballots. Tlie remainder of the men not yet medicallv examined include eight who are bedridden, 110 whose examination has been deferred because they have enlisted in the Air Force. 46 conscientious objectors (depending on result of appeals), clergymen, and so on. 12 policemen (essential occupation), and 156 consisting of men regarding whom appeals had to be doeiilod, sea,.||,,l others in similar "w:imleriii”” occupations.

By using the parade these cyclists have reduced Hie possibility of being caught to a minimum, for it is very difficult for the authorities to detect the offenders.
