BOWLS TOURNAMENT
Wellington Centre Beats Manawatu The annual bowls fixture between representatives of the Manawatu and Wellington centres was held yesterday on the Wellington Bowling Club's green. Wellington won by 79 points, the totals being: Wellington, 330; Manawatu, 2;>l. Though games had been arranged tor morning play on the Thorndon, Hataitai, Victoria and Wellington club's’ greens, unpleasant weather caused these to be cancelled. The tournament games were played during the afternoon. Following are the results of play, the Manawatu skip and his team’s total being given first: —- De Ridder 16. O’Shea 15_; O; Donnell 1, Silberry 16: Thompson 17, Dickson 30; Irving 12, Hastings 2-1; Mowlem 18, Gray 30: Drew 15, MeKelvie Itij Bly 7, Lawrie 28; Boon 22, Brumley 5; Mills 26, Newson 12; Christens’en 12, I’orteous 30; Paton 14, Lock 28; Mattar 17, Keech 26; Henderson 18. Noad 19; Lock 27, Morgan 21; Roulston 15, Stonehouse 24.
