Dahlias And Gladioli There was a large and attractive display of flowers from throughout New Zealand at the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society’s gladioli and dahlia show held in conjunction with the Dahlia Society of New Zealand and opened at Lower Hutt yesterday. Despite wet weather conditions a large crowd gathered in the society’s hall for the opening ceremony, performed by the Anglican Bishop of Wellington, the Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland. For their three outstanding displays of begonias, Messrs. C. H. Matthews, H. J. Poole, and N. Greer were awarded Royal Horticulflural Society piedals. Mr. J. Neill's "Darcey Sanisbury” was the champion of champions dahlia exhibit, and the gladioli champion of champions waa “Wuthering Heights," an entry by Mr. W. E. Askwith. The show will remain open till 9.30 o'clock tonight. Results of the judging were:— Gladioli. (Judged by Mr. W. R. Griffiths.) W. E.
