Quality was lacking in the penning of 17J0 fat sheep at the Burnside sale today, the offering being made up almost entirely of ewes, for the most part mediumquality lines, with only odd pens ot heavy "1-adcs. The wethers forward were confined principally to medium descriptions, with an absence of heavy uheep. \\ ethers, because of the short supply, met good competition and remained firm at last week’s rates. The supply of ewes was more than sufficient for requirements, and consequently they sold at a decline ot fully 1/- a head. Over the final stages of the sale competition "was confined almost entirely to freezing buyers.
