QUEEN CARNIVAL
Harbour Board Princess
Miss Molly McKenzie has been chosen by the staff of the Wellington Harbour Board to represent them as the Harbour Board Princess in support of the Transport Queen in the Victory Queen Carnival. A meeting of the special committee which has been formed to further Miss McKenzie’s candidature was held on Monday evening, and judging by the enthusiasm displayed their future activities .should be of considerable assistance to the funds of the Queen Carnival. The list of suggested entertainments as tabled by Mr. Welch, the secretary of the committee, was adopted by the meeting, and the members of the harbour board staff may look forward to a programme of various events to appeal to all tastes. As a grand opening event, a dance is “to be held in the Sports and Pastimes Club’s rooms next Wednesday. These clubrooms have been the scene of many enjoyable entertainments and dances in the past, but the committee is determined that next IVednesday’s dance shall surpass all other efforts.
