UPPER HUTT WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The first meeting of the year of the Upper Hutt Women’s Institute was held on Tuesday, Mrs. Jones, president, being in the chair. The attendance living small, final arrangements for the nnnmrl picnic were left till next meeting. Members were asked to leave gills for the institutes’ street day sale for the £1.009,000 fund at the house of Mrs. Hyslop, secretary. Appeals for a nicies for soldiers’ parcels were warmly responded to. Mr. A. <J. Jackson gave a talk on gladioli. He allowed some choice blooms. Ihe sale of which later Io members added materially to the institute funds. Competition winners were Mrs. Jones, Miss Taylor ami Mrs. Rogers.
