Tile Miramar Esperanto Society began its IIHI session this week in the new clubroom, Cna Weller Academy, Miramar Avenue. The president. Mr. Bertram Botts, welcomed old and new members, ami briefly reported on the recent New /.inland Esperanto Congress, which took place in Wanganui. Mr. E. Thrnfeld began the (.'hay instruction course, a direct method of'learning the language. WELLINGTON CLUB Many new members were welcomed at the opening meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Society, held on Monday evening. As Esperanto organizations in many countries bad been overwhelmed by war, the president. Mr. J. H. Thomas, said it was the duty of those in New Zealand to make an added effort to support the i movement. Mr. V. .1. I.eel; gave a talk on his experiences in Vienna where he lectured I in Esperanto to an audiei.ee of (too. from 10 countries, on New Zealand. Classes for beginners and more experienced students were formed. A special teachers’ training class will be in the charge of Air. S. Vogt.
