BOWLING COUNCIL
Veteran Member Retires
Mr. S. M. Stone, of the Seatoun Bowling Club, has retired from a seat on the Council of the New Zealand Bowling Association after having served on that body for 14 years. He has also taken a prominent part in the administration of bowling in Wellington for many years. At the last meeting of the council in Christchurch', the president, Mr. L. B. Evans, Christchurch, said he had heard with regret that it was the last meeting of the council that Mr. Stone would attend. He referred to the finework that Mr. Stone had done during Ins years of office. Mr. Stone, in reply, thanked the president and members- for their appreciative remarks. He would, he said, be very sorry to sever his connexion with the council, but his decision to retire was definite.
