Big River Report Big River Gold Mines, Limited, report for the month of January, 1941N0. 1 intermediate level: Only a small amount of work was done in the prospecting drive from winze in this level, as men were required for repairs to ehaft. Nothing of value has so far been exposed. No 5 level: In the No. 1 winze on the north side of shaft crosscut, a short drive has been put out to follow the reef which has thrown over into the hanging wall. Some good quality quartz is at present showing in the face. On the south side of the crosscut, a prospecting drive was commenced at 1 point 72 feet between No. 5 and 6 levels, with the object of endeavouring to locate the blocks of quartz found above No. 5 level; 22 feet have so far been driven on a track in a northerly direction without locating reef. No. < level: The drive has been advanced to a point 65 feet south of the crosscut which intercepted the ore channel. The face still consists of formation material which has narrowed in to a width of inches. No. 7 rise off level: A rise was commenced during the month to meet the winze from No. 6 level and the face is now advanced 15 feet above the level caps The quartz found in the level beneath this rise has pinched and the face now consists of formation material and reef track.
