DEFENCE PRODUCTION
Delivery Of Machine Tools (Received February 2, 7.5 p.in.) WASHINGTON, February 1. Mr. Edward Stettinius, who is responsible for raw materials in the Defence Commission, announced that machine tool manufacturers had been asked to deliver only to customers who possess priority rating after February 28. A spokesman for Mr. Ford stated that he was ready to produce anything the Government needs for defence without profit provided other manufacturers do likewise. The spokesman reiterated that Mr. Ford would not. accept contracts containing a clause specifying compliance with the labour laws.
