N.Z. CHESS CONGRESS RESULTS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, December 30. The New Zealand Chess Congress continued today, two sessions being held. Results of completed games are:— Fifth round. —Newtek beat Selling; Wade drew with Allerband; Bennett beat Dennard; Faiburn beat Vincent. Sixth round. —Wade beat Bennett; Kelling beat Vincent. Results in the major open tournament are:—Fifth round : Pearse beat Miss Collinson; Steele beat Mrs. Short; Hardy beat Kemshed. Sixth round: Wallace beat Kemshed; Hardy beat Misk Collinson ; Mrs. Golding beat Pearse: Traves and Mrs. Short drew.
