EXPRESS STEAMER SERVICE
Wellington-Lyttelton ADDITIONAL SPECIAL SAILINGS No time has been lost by the (Inion Company in rearranging the Welling-ton-Lyttelton express steamer service following the mishap to the Rangatira to cope with the rush of returning holiday travellers, particularly from the South Island, during the first few days of the New Year. The Maori was put into commission yesterday, and left Wellington last night for Lyttelton. As the Maori is a smaller ship, carrying fewer passengers than the Rangatira, 'more special sailings than were originally scheduled have now been arranged for, and include four daylight sailings from both Wellington and Lyttelton. Corresponding sailings are being made from both Wellington and Lyttelton. The sailings from Wellington from today till Januarv 7 will be as follows: — Today, Wahine, 7.45 p.m.; tomorrow, January 1. Maori, 7.45 p.m.; Thursday, January 2, Wahine. 5.15 a.m., and Maori, 7.45 p.m.; Friday, January 3, Wahine, 7.45 p.m.; Saturday, January 4, Maori, 5.15 a.m., and Wahine, 7.45 p.m.; Sunday, January 5, Maori, 5.15 a.m., and 'Wahine, 7.45 p.m.; Monday, January 6. Maori, 7.45 p.m.; Tuesday, January 7, Wahine, 8.15 a.m., and Maori. 7.45 p.m.
PICTON EXCURSION CANCELLED
The excursion trip which the Rangatira was to have made to Picton tomorrow. New Year’s Day, has been cancelled.
