WAIOTIRA REPORT
Torpedoed In Atlantic (Received December 27, 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, December 26. The Mackay radio states that the Shaw. Savill freighter Waiotira (12,823 tons) reported that she had been torpedoed in the Atlantic at 58 degrees 12 minutes north, 17 degrees 25 minutes west. [One of the latest-built motor-ships of her line, the 'Waiotira has in the past traded with New Zealand ports.) Swedish Ship Stink. STOCKHOLM, December 26. The Swedish steamer Mangen was sunk by a torpedo in the Atlantic. Five members of the crew are missing.
