Auckland’s Wool Cheque
Cheques aggregating £200,790 are now being distributed to woolgrowers throughout the Auckland province. These are the proceeds from the fourth war appraisement of the season, which took place during the period December 5 to December 9. This amount will bring the total distribution to growers in the Auckland province for the current season to date to £679.000. or about twice the amount paid out prior to Christmas under rhe auction system of peacetimes. A total of 16.194 bales was appraised ar the last offering, according to the official figures released by the Auckland Wool Brokers’ Association. The net weight of wool was 5,640,0841 b., and the average prices worked out at £l7/19/1 a bale and 12.39 d. per lb.
