OPERA HOUSE
Record of another of Andy Hardy s rather alarming love affairs. “Andy Hardy Meets Debutante.” continues for a third week in Wellington, now at. the Opera House. Mickey Rooney, again as Andy, makes the most of his opportunities. Many are the laughs to be had. as.well as instruction from the numerous wise sayings of Judge Hardy. Andy's father. This time Andy is in love with Daphne Fowler, whose face is as familiar to Americans as their favourite movie stars. Andy, however, feels his passion of the hopeless variety, for Daphne is in New York and he stems destined to end his days in Carvel. With this in mind he openly boasts of his acquaintance with Miss Fowler, ami tells his old love. Polly, that he is most attached to Daphne. Andy's consternation is great, as might be expected, when he arrives home one night to hear the judge announce that the whole family is leaving for New York. Protesting wildly that he cannot go—his college friends later get to know about the tri]» and cajole him into promising to send them a photograph of himself with Daphne—Andy tries to dodge what fate has brought upon him, but he is not slick enough. How Andy meets Daphne ami how she ar Hinges for hiio to bo photographed with her makes fascinating entertainment. -—i
