Meeting Of Association The intention of the. Wellington Loxing Association is to start off the present season with an amtiteur tournament. This was explained at the annual meeting of the association this week by the chairman of the inaniigeinent committee. Mr. B. A. Guise, who stated Hint several of the more promising boxers were now in camp, and those in training for Hus season were either novices or unknown to the public. He stated that an attempt to arrange a match in Wellington between Ron Richards, the Australian champion, and Maurice Strickland, had fallen through because Richards had demanded a fee of £lOOO. and had estimated that lie would not be available for five or six weeks.
