Meeting Of Parents About 80 parents of pupils attending Wcllingtou College recently visited the college to inspect the rooms and equipment and to sec the conditions under which their sons were working, to discuss, a competitive collection scheme to raise money for the Alclrojiolitan District Patriotic Fund, and to attend a screening ot 3'5 m.m. and 16 m.ni. sound films. Parents inspected the library, woodwork room, geography room, the four science laboratories', the museum, the memorial hall and the history room. 'The last mentioned has just been furnished and is only partially equipped. The meeting approved of the new proposal to make the collection scheme one entirely for patriotic purposes, the proceeds to be forwarded from time to time to the District Patriotic Council. Some other means were to be devised to assist in helping such school needs ns the erection of lives courts and the equipment of the [iipe band. A motion was carried unanimously "'l’hat the headmaster be requested to send out to all parents a circular asking them to contribute annually a sum of money up to £1 for each son in attendance at the college, this money to be used as a fund for college improvements and the contributions to be paid in one sum or in instalments as convenient to parents.” It. was stilted that that would take the place of periodic money-raising appeals and to give effect to the motion a committee was set up consisting of the headmaster. Mr. W. A. Armour, and Messrs. F. M. Clarke. G. M. Pottinger, A. F. '['urnbull and J. Gilchrist. Four films were presented, most of them being presented through the large 35 m.m. projector. Their titles were:— "What is It?" "Water in the Air,” "Tennyson and His Poetry." and a coloured travelogue on Stockholm.
