Ice Ballet In Fourth Week What a fascination the “Switzerland’' ice ballet and revue company has for the Wellington public is shown by the i'ne.t that the season is now in its fourth week, and still every performance. ineluding matinees, is being witnessed by packed audiences. Perhaps the explanation lies in the fact that this is the first occasion in Wellington's hundred venrs of existence that the public hits been able to see skating on real ice in or out oi 11 theatre. There are those in South Canterbury, Otago and Southland who have skated on the smaller lakes in severe winters, lint the experience has never been the lot of residents in the North Island. Then lignin, the company Is fortunate in the possession of skaters not excelled anywhere. including such experts as Megan Taylor, the woman ehainnion, Phil Tnylor. the trick skater, and daring exponent of skntiug ill high speed on 16in. stilts, that clever comedian on skates, Eddie Mareel, the graceful McKinnon sisters. Elsie Heathcote mid Diana Grafton, all beautiful exponents of the most graceful art. brought to the modern stage. The ballets are a dream of 'beauty, particularly “Turquoisctte,” or the ballet in blue, danced to the music of Greig, and the exquisite gavotte, minuet, and waltz skated to tile eiicluinl'lg lilt of Johann Strauss, mid played bv an orchestra, under Mr. Leo Packer, that is attuned Io every subtlety of the music. There will be 11 matinee on Wednesday afternoon as usual.
